I want to design an engagement ring with Artelia, Where do I start?
The best place to start is at our showroom in Fountain Gate shopping centre. Meeting with us in person allows us to show you the quality of our jewellery and the designs that we can offer you, as well as discussing the details of your dream ring.
At Artelia we are passionate about making unique and special rings, and approach each design with enthusiasm and passion. We would love to help you design your perfect ring, and if you would love to create your dream ring with us, don't hesitate to pay us a visit.
I already have a diamond, can you design a ring with my stone?
Definitely. Being jewellery manufacturers, we are capable of making beautiful bespoke designs with your own stones. Depending on the original design, we can even reset diamonds from other completed rings. If you have already purchased a diamond, or you have a diamond that's very sentimental to you, please don't hesitate to ask about what we can create for you.
Can I select my own stone?
At Artelia we encourage our clients to select their own stone, as it gives them greater control over the quality and size of the diamond, as well as how all of these details relate to their personal price point. Once we have a clear idea of design, and the size and cut of the diamond, we organise to a time for our clients to view a series of diamonds that are perfectly tailored to their designs.
I want the proposal to be a surprise, can you help me pick the perfect ring?
At Artelia all of our experienced team members are more than happy to help you select the perfect ring, but when it comes to jewellery, everyone is different. Think about whether your partner prefers white, yellow or rose gold, the design of any rings they might have already, and if there are any designs that you know of that they really love.
If your partner is someone who has pictures saved, it would be a good idea to save a copy of them on your phone for reference. If they have any friends who can help you (and can keep a secret of course) it might be a good idea to ask them for a little help. Once you've gathered all your information, stop by the store and we'll help you find the perfect design for your special someone.
I don't know my partner's finger size, what can we do?
If you have another ring that your partner wears comfortably on the ring finger of their right hand, that can often be a good indicator of size, alternatively if you know roughly where their ring sits on your finger, that can also help us in getting the size as close as possible. These techniques however only help us to achieve our best guess, and will not be a perfect size match. This is why we include a complementary ring resize with the purchase of every Artelia engagement ring.
Can I see the ring before the diamonds are set?
Depending on the design you have chosen it is sometimes necessary to have the ring fitted before the diamonds are set, to ensure that the ring is a correct fit. This is because an intricate design with a large amount of diamonds can sometimes be difficult to resize without compromising the strength of the setting and the security of it's stones. However regardless of the design if you would like to view the ring before the diamonds are set we are more than happy to organize a viewing for you once the band has been completed.
How long does it take to design a bespoke ring?
The design process can be as involved as you want it to be. At Artelia we do not charge our clients for ongoing design alterations, we work together until the design is perfect for you, whether that takes weeks or months.
How long does it take to make a bespoke ring?
The manufacturing process for a bespoke ring takes between three to six weeks (usually four) to be completed, depending on the level of detail in your design. Of course don't let this scare you away, if you need the ring urgently, or by a specific date, our team will do our absolute best to ensure that the piece is completed for you right on time.
Do you have a guarantee on your engagement rings?
At Artelia all of our designs - bespoke or otherwise - are designed to last a lifetime of love and care. This is why we offer a lifetime guarantee on manufacturing faults. However we do not accept responsibility for damage that arises from wear and tear or rough treatment. All of our products are designed to last, but some designs are more delicate than others. We encourage all customers to talk to one of our talented jewellers about how to best take care of their new engagement ring.
I'm thinking of creating a platinum ring, can you tell me more about the differences between platinum and white gold?
Platinum is 40% denser than white gold. which makes it heavier, more durable. When considering a platinum ring it is important to note that platinum has a slightly deeper grey shade to it than a white gold, which is beautiful in its own way.
Platinum does not require a rhodium finish, which is often the appeal of platinum to many of our clients, however our white gold is made with palladium, a sister metal to platinum, which gives it a whiter colour and prevents the gold from tarnishing or becoming yellow over time. Once the rhodium plating wears away from our white gold it will be virtually identical in colour to platinum.
On some designs - particularly ones that are larger or carry a significant amount of diamond - platinum can be a wise choice for giving those designs some more support and stability. If you are considering a platinum ring, please don’t hesitate to ask our helpful team about what we can offer you.
Loose Diamonds & Coloured Gemstones
How do I select the perfect diamond?
At Artelia all of our diamonds over 0.30ct are independently valued by the Gemological Institute of America, which gives us an independent, accurate and strict measurement of the quality of each and every diamond we keep in our store. GIA certified diamonds are measured for cut, colour, clarity, carat, polish, symmetry and fluorescence.
Each of our team members are more than qualified to explain the details of these measurements to you, as well as how they relate to your diamond of choice. Choosing the perfect diamond is a very personal experience, and at Artelia we always strive to give you the best information, so that you can make your choice with confidence and knowledge.
Are your diamonds certified conflict free?
All diamonds evaluated by the Gemological Institute of America are certified conflict free, which along with their exeptional knowledge of gemstones is one of the reasons why Artelia choses GIA certified stones.

Wedding Ring Experience
Can you design a wedding band to match my engagement ring?
Of course we can, Artelia has always been dedicated to bespoke jewellery, and we consider the wedding bands to be a piece that should when possible always be bespoke, particularly for individuals with an engagement ring. It is essential when placing a wedding band - diamond or otherwise - next to an engagement rings that the profile, width and thickness of the two bands are as close to identical as possible, so that it will be visually a true pair.
When it comes to diamond engagement or eternity bands, it is necessary to ensure that the setting and size of the diamonds on the engagement ring and wedding band are identical or complimentary, so that the two rings rest together perfectly. For wedding bands that sit alone, we offer an exceptionally wide range of designs to suit any individual, all of which can of course be customized to suit your tastes.
My engagement ring isn't from Artelia, can we still have a matching wedding band made with you?
At Artelia we are delighted to make wedding bands for anyone, regardless of where their engagement ring was purchased. Of course making a wedding band to match an Artelia engagement ring is a little simpler for us, as we know the exact measurements of the engagement ring as well as the diamonds; but we are always willing and able to make the perfect design for you or your partner.
I don't know what I want, can you help me?
Absolutely! we always have an extensive and varied range of engagement rings and wedding bands in store, as well as generations of combined experience in bespoke designs. We would be more than happy to walk you through the design of your rings, from the cut and quality of your diamonds, to their setting and style.
I know exactly what I want. Can you help me?
Again, absolutely. Being jewellery manufacturers with a passion for bespoke, we will make your dream design with enthusiasm and a focus on perfection. If it exists - and won't compromise the strength and longevity of your ring - we can absolutely make it for you. Reference images are always helpful, and we will do are absolute best to make you the design you are dreaming of.
Repairs, Valuations and Remodelling
Can you repair my jewellery for me?
Given our background in manufacturing, we are more than happy to repair your existing jewellery. We will do so efficiently, but without ever compromising the quality of our work. The magic of jewellery is in its history and sentimentality, and we treat those pieces with respect and care.
I'm looking to have my pieces valued, can you help me?
At Artelia we do not value jewellery in house, but through a jewellery valuing organisation independent of us. This is because we consider it to be more honest and transparent to have out own designs valued independently rather than through our own company. If you are looking to have your own collection valued, we are more than happy to organise the valuation of your pieces through our store, and more affordably than if you were to contact the valuer directly.
I love my ring, but it's starting to get run down with age, can you help me bring it back to life?
We would love to give your design some love and affection, whether that is a polish and rhodium, retipping your claws, replacing lost stones or repairing damage from wear and tear. Please don't hesitate to drop by our showroom and talk about how we can help make your design shine like new.
I would like to remodel my ring, can you help me?
Through our bespoke jewellery services we are also more than happy to remodel your existing rings, we use your stones (and your gold, if for sentimental reasons you would like to use it) and make an entirely new design to your specification from the materials of your original piece. Additionally, if you have lost your ring or in some way irreparably damaged it, we would love to help you remake your original design as exactly as we can.
